I am back on track with another seed. Proverbs 11:5 (King James Version)
The righteousness of the blameless shall rectify and make plain their way and keep it straight, but the wicked shall fall by their own wickedness.11:5
Standing for righteousness should be synonymous with standing with Christ. Citizens of the Kingdom or, believers of God, must always stand for righteousness. Why, you ask? Simply because the King, our Holy Father, is righteous 1 John 2:29, 'If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.' Leviticus 11: 44 states, be ye holy for I am holy. So, why are so many citizens turning a blind eye to wickedness? It may be because many are not living devoutly.
No,I am not getting all "self righteous" on you. I am making a legitimate point here. I know what you're thinking, "haven't we all fallen short of the glory of God, according to Romans 3:23?" Although this is true, we all do fall short of God's glory, we are still expected to walk uprightly before HIM so we can spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:13, that we are the salt of the earth. Why would he say that? Why salt? Well, what does salt do? Salt preserves; it keeps meat from rotting. Believers are to spread the gospel and keep people from "rotting". In that same scripture,Matthew 5, Jesus says to his disciples, that if the salt then looses its savor, it is good for nothing 'but to be trodden under the foot of man'.
In order for us to spread the gospel, we must maintain our integrity or our savor. We must live righteously so that all our proclamations about Christ can be valid. If you're not living righteously, it's hard to talk about a righteous God. Willingly practicing sin is how satan shuts up your spirit. The devil keeps your mind and flesh entertained by sin so that, God's true calling for you can never be obtained.
A preacher once said, "Stop rationalizing your sins". Its time to get serious and get to work, and ask yourself, would you follow a known liar who advocates for truth?
